This is number one in a series of five hanging sculptures in which I attempt to portray through artistic means the concepts I’ve been reading about concerning particle physics and quantum field theory and other weird stuff.  In all of these cases I’m looking at the workings of spacetime itself. This sculpture represents a concept known as Loop Quantum Gravity which is, in essence, impossibly tiny Planck scale interlocking loops of energy arrayed in three dimensions that extends throughout the Universe.
