Miss Dolly is another good friend and occasional guest. She had the honor (or misfortune) of being the subject of one of my first paintings in the modern era.  On a whim I entered this painting in the Del Mar Fair’s Pet Portrait contest for that year and miraculously walked away with an honorable mention!  I found this quite inspiring and, for a time, considered specializing in pet portraiture.
